‘Govt Can Stop Killings If Serious’ – SDP’s Adebayo Knocks Tinubu Over Plateau Attack

The former presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Adewole Adebayo, has criticised President Bola Tinubu, accusing his administration of paying lip service to insecurity in the country.

Adebayo made the remarks during a visit to Anguwan Rukuba in Plateau State, where at least 29 persons were reportedly killed in a Palm Sunday night attack.

The SDP chieftain lamented the scale of violence in the country, describing the persistent killings and destruction of property as evidence of leadership failure.

He noted that several others were injured in the Anguwan Rukuba attack, further worsening the humanitarian situation in the affected community.

Adebayo insisted that the Federal Government possesses the capability to tackle insecurity if there is genuine commitment.

“The criminals who carried out this attack are not stronger than the government. If there is seriousness, they can be identified and brought to justice,”

he said.

He added, “Tinubu is only paying lip service to the insecurity confronting the country.”

Commiserates with victims

The former presidential candidate also expressed sympathy with the people of Anguwan Rukuba over the tragic incident.

He assured residents of his solidarity, urging them to remain vigilant despite the challenges.

Adebayo called on authorities to take concrete and immediate steps to restore safety and prevent a recurrence of such attacks.

He stressed that beyond rhetoric, Nigerians expect practical measures that will guarantee the protection of lives and property.
