I Am Not In NASS For Self, But To Serve – Edo Lawmaker

The member representing Etsako Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Anamero Dekeri, has said his primary duty at the National Assembly is to serve the interests of his constituents and ensure that they benefit from the dividends of democracy.
.....
This was made known in a statement by the lawmaker’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Benjamin Atu.
Naija News reports that Dekeri stated this during an empowerment programme held at Eveva Primary School in Okpella, Edo State, where over 1,176 artisans and members of various trade associations received working tools to support their businesses.
Addressing the crowd at the event, the lawmaker said his representation in the National Assembly is focused on improving the welfare of the people through practical interventions that directly affect their daily lives.
“I have no other business at the National Assembly than to serve your interest,” Dekeri said.
“Whatever I need to do to ensure that all that belongs to Etsako Federal Constituency gets across to us, I will do it. I have committed myself to the service of Etsako Federal Constituency and I will continue to serve you to the best of my abilities.”
He added that he had already sponsored bills aimed at securing sustainable development for the constituency.
“With me as your representative, Etsako Federal Constituency is in safe hands,” he said.
Dekeri said the empowerment initiative was part of efforts to ensure that democracy translates into real benefits for the people.

“We are gathering here today to share and partake in the dividends of democracy. Democracy will lose credibility if it does not add value to human life,” he said.
“I will continue to add value to the lives of our people and ensure that everyone is economically empowered in various trades as I continue to strive to create other opportunities that will make life worth living for our people.”
The lawmaker also revealed that another large-scale empowerment programme was already being planned and would take place later in the year.
“This empowerment programme will not be the last. Another mega empowerment is already in the pipeline and will take place within the year,” he added.
Beneficiaries praise lawmaker’s projects
Some beneficiaries of the programme commended the lawmaker for what they described as visible development projects across the constituency.
Dekeri used the occasion to thank Governor Monday Okpebolo and Senator Adams Oshiomhole for their leadership and support, which he said had helped create an enabling environment for development across the state.
He also expressed appreciation to political leaders, ward chairmen and party executives across the constituency for their continued support.
