I met my husband when people were roasting me on Facebook – Nigerian gospel singer says 3 years after her alleged ex-fiance accused her of dumping him for another man

Newlywed Nigerian gospel singer, Amaka Gift, has revealed that she met her husband on Facebook while facing backlash after her alleged fiance and manager, Favour Ibex, accused her of dumping him for another man.

It will be recalled that Ibex claimed that Amaka dumped him after he allegedly sponsored and invested in her career for nine years. 

Taking to Facebook on Monday, August 28, 2023, Favour, who owns a broadcasting and media firm, narrated how he met Amaka through her local church choir and they dated for three years before he ‘’introduced her to music in 2017. 

According to Mr. Ibex, he was betrothed to Amaka and they have taken blessings from their families but they decided to keep the relationship private so it wouldn’t affect her gospel career and education. Read HERE.

In a Facebook post on Monday, April 6, 2026, Amaka shares photos with her husband, recalling how he stood by her then and insisted on marrying her. 

“Now my testimony. ooooh God!!! What  if I tell you people that I met my husband on this blue app when people were roasting me on this space Kaii,” she wrote.

“This man still kwechiri!! He said something that shocked me!!! kaai. “Amaka you are my wife and I’m not giving up on you wether you’re ready or not.”
