BENIN CITY — Edo State Deputy Governor, Dennis Idahosa, has commended Governor Monday Okpebholo for his compassion, as he received members of the Governor’s Press Corps following the death of his mother at the age of 95.

The delegation, led by the Chief Press Secretary, Dr Patrick Akhere Ebojele, visited Idahosa to condole with him and his family.

The deputy governor expressed gratitude for the visit and recounted how the governor personally called him within minutes of learning about the death.

“I sent a message, and within three minutes, my boss called me. I wondered if he even sleeps,” he said, describing the gesture as deeply touching.

He also appreciated the press corps for their support and role in projecting government activities.

On funeral arrangements, Idahosa said the family is consulting and would announce plans after due consultations with the governor.

Earlier, Ebojele said the visit was to identify with the deputy governor, describing him as a friend of the press corps.
