The people of Ifelodun Local Government, under the socio-political group The Like Minds in the Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), have urged the national leadership of the party to consider Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa for the party’s governorship ticket ahead of the 2027 elections.

The group highlighted Bolarinwa’s contributions to the emergence of progressive governance in Kwara State during the 2019 and 2023 general elections.

Speaking at a press conference in Ilorin, the chairman of the group, Hon. Bayo Yusuf Ige, said, “Hon. Bolarinwa has consistently demonstrated leadership, from grassroots governance as a Councillor and Local Government Chairman to national service as a Member of the House of Representatives and strategic leadership as State Party Chairman. His experience spans both executive and legislative roles.”

He added, “Bolarinwa has inspired and impacted lives through decades of dedicated service, and his leadership played a key role in the APC’s historic victory in 2019, which ushered in a new era of accountability and inclusiveness in Kwara State.”

Ige commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for sustaining the gains of 2019 and achieving a repeat victory in 2023, while noting that the continuity of progress requires capable leadership as the state approaches 2027.

“This assembly of like-minded citizens from all 18 wards of Ifelodun Local Government is a demonstration of our collective support and shared aspiration for progress. We stand united to encourage leadership built on merit and consistency,” he said.

Ige called on the APC national leadership to consider Bolarinwa’s record of service and urged party members across the state to rally behind a candidate with a proven understanding of the state’s needs and solutions-oriented approach.
