JAMB Reviews 2026 UTME Schedule

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has adjusted the arrival time for candidates sitting the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), particularly those scheduled for the first session of the day.

The board disclosed this in a notice shared via its official 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday, Naija News reports.

According to the examination body, candidates scheduled for the first session are now expected to arrive at their designated Computer-Based Test centres by 7:00 a.m., instead of the earlier 6:30 a.m.

JAMB, however, maintained that the examination will commence at 8:30 a.m. and end at 10:30 a.m.

“Attention 2026 UTME candidates: This is to notify you of a slight adjustment to the arrival time, particularly for the first session, which is now 7:00 a.m. as against the earlier published 6:30 a.m., while the start time is 8:30 a.m. and end time 10:30 a.m.,” the board stated.

The board further explained that the revised timetable provides for four sessions daily, scheduled from Monday to Friday across accredited CBT centres nationwide.

It noted that the adjustment in time slots was designed to enhance operational efficiency and ensure a smoother examination process.

JAMB said the decision followed concerns raised by candidates and parents regarding the earlier reporting time.

These concerns, according to the board, centred on early morning travel challenges, including safety risks and transportation difficulties faced by candidates.

The board also clarified that candidates are not required to reprint their examination slips as a result of the adjustment.

JAMB added that the 2026 UTME is scheduled to hold between Thursday, April 16 and Saturday, April 25, 2026.

It urged candidates to adhere strictly to the updated schedule and arrive at their centres on time to avoid any disruptions.
