Kaffy passes dance legacy to children

Popular dancer Kafayat Shafau, widely known as Kaffy, appears to be nurturing a new generation cut from the same creative cloth.

Her children, Sean and Eliana, are already stepping into the rhythm of her legacy, mirroring her passion and flair for dance with a confidence that suggests the stage is as much their home as it is hers.

At the recent premiere of Michael Jackson’s biopic on April 20, 2026, Kaffy and her children were spotted dancing alongside a group of performers, including singer, Peter Okoye (formerly of P-Square). Videos from the event captured the trio moving in sync, reinforcing what many followers have come to recognise— that dance is a shared language within the family.

However, this was no one-off display. Over time, Sean and Eliana have consistently appeared in dance videos shared by their mother, showing that their connection to the art form goes beyond casual exposure. Their movements reflect not just imitation, but a growing sense of identity and confidence on the dance floor.

In one such instance on December 22, 2025, Kaffy shared a video of herself and Eliana dancing together in their kitchen. The clip drew widespread reactions, with many praising the young dancer’s poise and resemblance to her mother’s style. One user, ihekubi, commented, “Ctrl+C; Ctrl+V… this is so wholesome,” while another, ossybrown, wrote, “@kaffydance now I’m thinking Eliana should be the choreographer of Champz next hit song. This one is for the culture! Second generation of legends.”

With repeated public appearances and a growing online presence, it is becoming evident that Kaffy’s influence extends beyond her own career, quietly shaping the next generation.
