Katsina police arrest four suspects after mob k!lls trader who st@bbed customer to d3ath during dispute

The Katsina State Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with a mob action that led to the d3ath of a trader in Kokami village, Danja Local Government Area of the state.

The situation escalated when Jones allegedly st@bbed Auwal during an altercation at his shop.
Auwal was reportedly rushed to Abdullahi Makama Hospital in Dabai, where he was later confirmed d@ad by doctors on duty.
The confirmation of Auwal’s d3ath allegedly triggered a reprisal, as some youths in the community reportedly mobilised, k!lled Joe and set his body ablaze along a nearby road
The spokesperson for the command, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Sunday, April 5.
“On April 4th, 2026, the Katsina State Police Command has succeeded in arresting 4 suspects suspected to be in connection with a mob action that led to the d3ath of one KC Joe, m, at Kokami village, Danja LGA,” the statement read.
“The incident followed an initial dispute between the victim, KC Joe, and one Ibrahim Auwal, who was st@bbed to d3ath by the victim. The incident sparked a mob response, resulting in his d3ath.

“Upon receipt of the report, a team of police operatives quickly responded to the scene; family of the slain were evaluated for safety as normalcy was restored. Also, 4 suspects were arrested in connection with the incident.
“The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Ali Umar Fage, psc(+), mnips, while condemning the unfortunate incident, urged the members of the public to always report issues to the nearest police station and avoid taking laws into their own hands.
“He further called on the public to remain law-abiding as he assured that the case will be thoroughly investigated to ensure justice is served and those involved will face the full force of the law.
“The suspects are currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing. Further development will be communicated in due course, please.”
