Lagos: Arise With Renewed Hope Initiative set for inauguration

All is set for a historic and impactful gathering as Arise With Renewed Hope Initiative, a socio-political group with deep roots in Akwa Ibom State, officially inaugurates its Lagos State Chapter on Sunday, April 12, 2026.

This landmark event is scheduled to commence at 2pm at D’Podium International Event Centre, Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja, Lagos State.

It will bring together key stakeholders, supporters, and well-meaning Nigerians committed to advancing a shared vision of progress, unity, and sustained national development.

At a news conference, Otuekong Ubong Jackson Essien, the Lagos State Chapter Coordinator, affirmed the body’s readiness to mobilise grassroots and institutional support towards the reelection mission of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to Essien, the initiative is also backing the Senate President, Godswill Obot Akpabio, in his senatorial ambition for Akwa Ibom South West, and Umo Bassey Eno for a second term as the governor of Akwa Ibom State.

He noted that the inauguration marks a defining moment for the initiative as it expands its national footprint, reinforcing its commitment to democratic ideals, good governance, and people-centred leadership.

Otuekong Essien said that the Arise With Renewed Hope Initiative stands firmly on its guiding principle: “Your Mandate. Our Mission,” and seeks to inspire hope and positive action across communities.

On his part, Michael Effiong James, Senior Special Assistant (Lagos Liaison) to Governor Umo Eno, said the Initiative, which has Engr. Uwem Okoko as President-General, was conceptualised in Akwa Ibom State to mobilise support for candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.

James noted that the initiative, though driven by the philosophy and members of the APC, is open to all lovers of democracy.

He revealed that after the inauguration, the Lagos State Chapter would carry out various activities in the state and other South West states in line with its set objectives.
