Lagos Assembly endorses President Tinubu for second term

Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office.
The resolution was adopted during Tuesdayâs plenary following a motion moved by Oshodi/Isolo Constituency II lawmaker, Ladi Ajomale.
Lawmakers urged state assemblies, political parties, and the National Assembly to support the Presidentâs re-election bid across the country.
Moving the motion, Ajomale cited key achievements of the administration, saying ongoing reforms require continuity to deliver lasting benefits.
He highlighted initiatives including the student loan scheme, fuel subsidy removal, and infrastructure projects such as the Lagos Coastal Road.
He said these milestones âshould be consolidated through a second term to ensure sustained national progressâ.
Supporting the motion, Deputy Leader Richard Kasumu said Nigeriaâs foreign reserves had improved under the administration.
Kasumu added that the countryâs trade surplus âreflects the positive impact of current economic policiesâ.
Temitope Adedeji (Ifako Ijaye I) commended efforts to strengthen local government autonomy.
Adedeji described the move as âa significant step towards improving governance at the grassroots levelâ.
Gbolahan Yishawu praised education reforms, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund and a consumer credit scheme.
The Deputy Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, lauded improvements in Nigeriaâs international image and development projects.
Meranda noted progress in addressing challenges linked to passport processing, describing it as âencouragingâ.
The Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, said the endorsement was made on behalf of constituents across the state.
Obasa said: âThe lawmakers are expressing confidence in Tinubuâs capacity to sustain national development.
âI urge members to take this campaign to the grassroots as the House formally adopts the motion.â
