Moment Donald Trump bombshell dropped on live TV – and it’s an ‘absolute disaster’

The White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was caught off guard in a “disaster” moment for the Donald Trump administration after the US and Iran agreed to a ceasefire. During a live televised press conference on Wednesday, she said Trump was clear that a ceasefire meant no Iranian tolls through the Strait of Hormuz. She also claimed Iran had presented a new, modified peace plan that it can “align with our own, 15-point proposal”.

However, one reporter’s questions on bombing left the Press Secretary confused as he asked: “The latest news out of Iran is that the air defences have been activated in several cities, including Isfahan – how is bombing Iran right now?” Leavitt was taken aback and said: “Were those reports just from a view minutes ago? Obviously, I will have to go back and check with the national security team, but I will do that, and I will get you an answer.”

She added: “And I would just add to that point, I am not verifying them. Not that I don’t trust you, but I want to go back and check with the experts here at the White House.

“I would just say, and echo what the Vice President said this morning, that this is a fragile truce; ceasefires are fragile by nature. We have seen this with respect to the 12-day war with Iran and Israel last year – it takes time.”

Leavitt continued: “One of the results of operation Epic Fury was that we completely dismantled Iran’s command and control centre, which makes it difficult for them to pass messages up and down the chain.

“We understand that, we would caution a bit of patience, but we want to see the ceasefire abided by all parties as quickly as possible.”

The clip from the conference has been shared on X by multiple users, with one person writing: “Absolute disaster for the Trump Administration.

“A reporter drops a massive bombshell on live TV, revealing Iran is actively being bombed right now despite the ceasefire. The Press Secretary is completely caught off guard and has absolutely no idea what is going on.”

Another added: “None of them ever know the details when posed with uncomfortable questions.” A third chimed: “Absolutely a clown show.”

However, someone argued: “And yet two hours later, there is no proof of such claims. To present a question based on unverified information as if it is factual is disingenuous and unprofessional. Can’t just make stuff up and present it as a plausible question.”
