NAF air strike destroys terrorist base in North-East

The Nigerian Air Force says it has carried out a coordinated air strike targeting terrorist positions in Guduf, located in the Mandara Mountains, as part of ongoing counter-terrorism operations under Operation HADIN KAI.

The Mandara Mountains, where the strike took place, are located along the northeastern border of Nigeria and Cameroon, primarily within Adamawa State and extending into Borno State.

According to a statement released on Tuesday, signed by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, the operation was conducted on 27 April 2026 following credible intelligence and confirmatory Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance reports.

Ejodame said NAF air assets “executed a coordinated operation that identified multiple terrorist structures and logistics hubs actively supporting insurgent activities within the area,” adding that the mission was carried out with precision and in line with established rules of engagement.

He stated that the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI deployed precision targeting to engage and neutralise hostile elements and their infrastructure, while ensuring “due regard for the protection of civilians and the surrounding environment.”

The Air Force said the strike destroyed key terrorist structures and logistics hubs in the enclave, which it described as a known hideout in the Mandara Mountains, thereby degrading the operational capacity of the affected insurgent network.

NAF added that the operation reflects its continued efforts to deny terrorist groups freedom of action and strengthen ongoing security operations aimed at safeguarding national security.
