National Police Day: Shettima in Eagle Square for grand finale + Photos

Vice President Kashim Shettima arrived at Eagle Square in Abuja on Tuesday to represent President Bola Tinubu at the grand finale of the 2026 National Police Day.
The ceremony marked the culmination of a week-long series of activities themed “Community Partnership: Building Trust,” which began on March 30, 2026.
Upon his arrival, the Vice President took the official salute from officers on parade, signifying the formal start of the grand finale.
A statement on Tuesday by his media aide, Stanley Nkowcha, confirmed the development.
The event brings together senior government officials, the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force, security chiefs, and officers drawn from across the federation.
The statement further added that the celebration will also pay tribute to fallen officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
The formal parade and ceremonial honours mark the opening of the event, with officers of the Nigeria Police Force “lined up in full parade formation” to welcome the Vice President.
