Ndokwa West Council reaffirms commitment to inclusive Devet amid ongoing projects

Ndokwa West Local Government Area in Delta State has reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive development, as the administration of Chairman, Chief Obi Nzete, records progress across key sectors in the council.

A major highlight of the administration is the ongoing construction of an ultramodern legislative building at the council secretariat in Kwale. The facility, when completed, is expected to house over 50 offices, a legislative chamber, a conference hall, and a library, aimed at strengthening legislative and administrative efficiency at the grassroots level.

In the health sector, the council has renovated Primary Healthcare Centres in Ulogwe-Isumpe and Emu-Obodoeti, equipping them with modern medical facilities. Construction of a cottage hospital within the council secretariat is also underway, alongside residential quarters for medical personnel to improve service delivery and staff welfare.

The education sector has equally benefited from interventions, including the renovation and fencing of Ndokwa West Nursery and Primary School in Kwale. The administration said plans are in place to extend similar upgrades to other schools across the local government area to enhance learning environments and improve safety.

Infrastructure development remains a priority, with road grading projects ongoing in Emu Kingdom to improve access to farmlands and ease transportation. In addition, the construction of a garri storage facility and lock-up shops at Nkwor Market in Onicha Ukwuani is expected to boost local commerce and strengthen economic activities.

At the community level, councillors across the ten wards have executed constituency projects such as solar street lighting, renovation of community halls in Umusedeli Ogbe and Ulogwe-Isumpe, and the provision of mono pumps in Abbi to improve access to clean water.

The administration has also intensified efforts in security and environmental management through regular sanitation exercises in Kwale and surrounding communities, as well as prompt responses to security concerns, contributing to improved safety and reduced flooding risks.

The council noted that the projects align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the development vision of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, as Ndokwa West continues to witness steady growth.
