Nigerian newspapers review: [2027 polls] ADC, PRP blow hot

In today’s Nigerian newspapers review programme, Today in the News, Vanguard leads with the African Democratic Congress, ADC, writing the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, seeking quick delivery of judgment in the leadership crisis threatening its political fortunes.
Another headline features President Bola Tinubu formally launching his 2027 re-election quest by purchasing the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential nomination and expression of interest forms, in Abuja.
Vanguard also reports that the NMDPRA and oil marketers have continued to sell aviation fuel, also known as Jet A1, to airlines at N2,230 per litre and above, deepening concerns across Nigeria’s aviation sector.
Moving to the next papers, The Guardian leads with weak audit practice which has created fertile ground for suspicion about the Federal Government’s commitment to financial transparency, fiscal integrity, and confidence-building, while threatening to undermine the gains of economic reforms.
Next paper, The Punch leads with the 2027 political race in the ruling All Progressives Congress which gained some momentum on Tuesday as President Tinubu and other aspirants obtained their nomination forms.
Lastly, The Nation reports that Kenya’s President William Ruto backtracked on his remarks on the brand of English Nigerians speak, saying a “private conversation” he had with “fellow citizens” was recorded, misrepresented, taken out of context and shared online.
