NMA Disowns Viral Cancer Report Linked To Blessing CEO

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Delta State chapter, has disowned a histology report circulating on social media allegedly linked to relationship coach Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO.

The association said the document being circulated online was altered from an original medical report issued to another patient diagnosed with breast cancer.

In a statement jointly signed by the Delta State NMA Chairman, Dr Israel Adaigho, and Secretary, Dr Usamah Hannah, the association clarified that the report did not belong to Blessing Okoro.

According to the statement, the document circulating online was purportedly issued by Xinus Medical Diagnostics and signed by a consultant pathologist, Dr O.A. Odigwe.

However, the association explained that the proprietor of the diagnostic centre had confirmed that the report was originally issued to a different patient.

“Our attention has been drawn to an online histology report purportedly issued to one Blessing Okoro, aka Blessing CEO, by Xinus Medical Diagnostics allegedly located in Enugu State.

“The proprietor of Xinus Medical Diagnostics, Dr. O.A. Odigwe… has clarified that the centre did not at any time issue any report to Blessing Okoro,” the statement read.

The NMA stated that Xinus Medical Diagnostics is located in Asaba, Delta State, not Enugu as claimed in the viral document.

It explained that the centre was contacted in May 2025 by a doctor from a private hospital in Asaba to conduct a confirmatory test on a suspected breast cancer case involving a patient identified as Mbara Deborah.

“The test was done and the result issued to the referring doctor as a case of breast cancer on May 9, 2025,”

the association said.

According to the NMA, the original report bearing the name Mbara Deborah is the same document currently being circulated online by the law firm Allen Juris Law.

The association added that the report allegedly linked to Blessing Okoro appeared to be an altered version of the original result.

The NMA said the clarification became necessary due to the purposes for which the altered document was allegedly being used.

It urged the public to be cautious and warned against actions capable of undermining the credibility of medical practitioners.

The association also called on authorities responsible for maintaining law and order to take steps to prevent members of the public from being misled.

Blessing CEO Retracts Cancer Claim

The controversy followed claims by Blessing Okoro that she was battling stage four cancer, for which she reportedly sought financial support from the public.

However, after facing backlash and allegations that the medical report she shared had been edited, the relationship coach later retracted the claim.

Speaking during an interview amid the controversy, she said, “I don’t have stage 4 cancer. That was a miscommunication.”

She subsequently deactivated her social media account following the development.
