Ogun strengthens investment drive with new industrial park

The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has said that his administration will spare no effort to support the private sector in consolidating the industrialisation drive and job creation for Nigeria’s growing population.
Abiodun, who was represented by the Commissioner for Works, Ade Akinsanya, stated this on Tuesday while unveiling the ATC Business and Industrial Park, Ode Remo, owned by Senator Oladipo Odujirin.
The governor said that the occasion represents a significant step in the collective effort to deepen industrialisation, expand economic opportunities, and improve the quality of life of the people.
He stated that the significance of the business and industrial park reflects foresight, enterprise, and a clear understanding of the economic direction required to position the state as a leading destination for investment and innovation.
He said, “Your efforts have not only created infrastructure, but have also laid a strong foundation for inclusive growth and sustainable development.
“This project aligns perfectly with our administration’s strategic focus on creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive by providing a structural hub for industries and commercial activities. This park will stimulate job creation, support small and medium enterprises, and attract both local and foreign investors.
“Beyond the economic value, it will also serve as a catalyst for community development, opening opportunities for skill acquisition, increased commerce, and improved livelihoods for residents of Ode Remo and the environs.”
Abiodun said that the groundbreaking of a shopping mall within the park would further strengthen its potential as a comprehensive economic ecosystem that will enhance access to goods and services, promote local enterprise, and create a vibrant commercial centre that meets the needs of everyone around.
He said, “As a government, we remain committed to supporting initiatives such as this that complement our vision of a modern, prosperous, and economically competitive Ogun State.
“We will continue to invest in critical infrastructure, strengthen public-private partnerships, and implement policies that encourage enterprise productivity. Let me assure investors and stakeholders that Ogun State remains open for business.
“We will continue to provide the necessary support to ensure that investments such as this deliver maximum value, not only for the promoter, but for our people and future generations.”
Speaking earlier at the event, the Chairman of the industrial park, Odujirin, said that the project aligns strongly with Nigeria’s industrialisation drive and export-led growth ambitions.
The senator disclosed that the industrial park “represents the kind of private-sector-led, infrastructure-backed investment platform that Nigeria needs at this critical time”.
Sitting on a 10-acre expanse, Odujirin said that four acres are already developed, with three functional warehouses, while the facility also boasts a stable power supply and internal roads connected to the highway.
The park is also said to be accessible to any part of the country through the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and the newly inaugurated Gateway International Airport.
He stated that phase two development of the park will include a shopping mall, a four-star business hotel targeting corporate clients, aviation-linked traffic, and industrial visitors, as well as mixed-use developments, including residential, hospitality, and SME clusters.
Odujirin said, “What is happening here today is not speculation, it is infrastructure-driven transformation. This Park is an ecosystem: an ecosystem for logistics, light manufacturing, warehousing, aviation support services, retail, hospitality, and export-oriented businesses.
“We are proud to inform you that international investors are already operating within this Park. Their presence sends a clear message: global capital has validated this location.”
