Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, has said that the smear campaign of the opposition against the party and its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, will not stop it from securing victory in the August 15, 2026 poll.

The party chieftain said the allegations against the party and its candidate reflect the opposition’s fear of imminent defeat.

Speaking with newsmen on Sunday in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, he described as unfortunate what he termed the deliberate spread of falsehoods by opposition parties, aimed at misleading the electorate ahead of the poll.

Oyintiloye, a former lawmaker, said no amount of lies, false allegations, or fabricated stories would sway the resolve of the people, whom he said are determined to vote for the APC and its candidate on election day.

He said: “The opposition is jittery because of the electoral defeat that awaits them on August 15.

“And that is why they are spreading misinformation on a daily basis.

“But the good news is that the people of Osun are now wiser and will not repeat the mistake they made in 2022.

“They are eager to return the APC to power.”

Oyintiloye further said the APC had put its house in order, adding that no underhand tactics would derail its chances of victory.

According to him, the party’s prospects have been strengthened by its candidate, Oyebamiji, whom he described as a man of integrity, honesty, and diligence.

He expressed confidence that the calibre of members in the campaign committee, led by House of Representatives member, Wole Oke, would deliver a resounding defeat to the opposition parties.

He urged the people of the state to remain steadfast and not be misled by individuals he described as desperate to derail the state’s return to progressive governance.
