Plateau killings: Court resumes trial of four suspects amid tight security

Published

on

Proceedings resumed on Thursday at the Plateau State High Court in Jos for the trial of suspects linked to the Anguwan Rukuba killings and related attacks in Jos North Local Government Area.

The court premises were under tight security starting around 9:00 a.m. to prevent any breakdown of law and order during the high-profile hearing.

The trial follows a violent attack on March 28, 2026, in Jos North, which resulted in the deaths of over 30 people.

The Plateau State Government filed charges against the suspects, including criminal conspiracy, terrorism, culpable homicide and illegal possession of firearms.

The case was earlier adjourned to allow the defendants get proper legal representation, after the initial arraignment was stalled due to the absence of defence counsel.
