President Trump also calls for show host Jimmy Kimmel to be ‘immediately fired’

Donald Trump has called for the dismissal of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, escalating a growing dispute between the White House and the comedian over remarks made about First Lady Melania Trump.

.....

In a post on Truth Social on Monday, April 27, Trump criticised Kimmel’s performance and television ratings, while accusing him of airing misleading content during a recent monologue. The president took particular issue with a parody segment tied to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, in which Kimmel made jokes about Melania Trump.

Trump argued that the remarks took on a more serious tone following a security incident days later, when authorities said an armed suspect attempted to breach the event venue. He described the situation as dangerous and accused Kimmel of contributing to a climate of hostility.

The president also called on The Walt Disney Company and ABC to take action, urging that Kimmel be removed from his role.

The comments add to criticism already voiced by Melania Trump, who previously described the comedian’s remarks as inappropriate, and by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, who linked political rhetoric to rising tensions.

As of now, neither Kimmel nor his network has publicly responded to the calls for his dismissal. The controversy continues to draw attention, highlighting tensions between political figures and media personalities over satire and public discourse.
