Radda celebrates National Police Day, commends officers’ sacrifices

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has joined Nigerians in celebrating the 2026 National Police Day, paying tribute to the dedication and sacrifices of officers of the Nigeria Police Force.

In a statement marking the occasion, the governor praised police personnel for their commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the country.

“Today, we celebrate those who put on the uniform and risk their lives to keep us safe. Our police officers deserve our gratitude and respect,” Radda said.

He emphasised the critical role of the police in maintaining law and order, acknowledging their contributions to improving security in Katsina State and other parts of the country.

The governor noted that the force has remained instrumental in ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity in the state, commending officers for their bravery in confronting violent crimes and other security challenges.

Mr Radda also called on residents to support security agencies by providing timely and useful information to aid crime prevention and response.

He urged communities to collaborate closely with the police to strengthen grassroots security and enhance public safety.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to security, the governor pledged continued support for the police, including improved resources, training, and welfare for officers.

“Our administration is committed to providing whatever support the police need—better equipment, better training, and improved welfare for officers,” he said.

The governor concluded by expressing appreciation to police officers serving in Katsina State and prayed for their safety and success in the line of duty.
