Russia threatens to blow up iconic UK bridge in revenge for British drones destroying Putinâs key crossing

Russia has issued threats targeting the United Kingdom following reports that British-made drones were used by Ukraine in a strike on a key bridge in Russian-occupied territory.
.....
The incident relates to an attack on a strategic crossing over the Konka River in the Kherson region, where Ukrainian forces reportedly deployed Malloy T-150 heavy-lift drones to deliver explosives to the structure. The bridge had been a critical route supporting military operations in the area.
Russian state media figures reacted strongly to the revelation. Commentator Vladimir Kornilov criticised the UK, accusing it of openly supporting sabotage operations on what Russia considers its territory.
In response, he suggested retaliatory action, including symbolic threats against Westminster Bridge in London, a location near the UK Parliament. Other pro-Kremlin outlets echoed similar sentiments, calling for potential escal ation and suggesting that future strikes could target what they described as “decision-making centres.”
The strike itself was carried out by a Ukrainian drone unit, reportedly the 426th Unmanned Systems Regiment, which used heavy-lift drones capable of delivering large explosive payloads. The operation targeted structural weak points of the bridge, aiming to disrupt Russian military logistics in the region.
Ukrainian officials stated that the bridge had previously withstood multiple attack attempts, including strikes using HIMARS systems, before the drone-based approach succeeded.
The development highlights the increasing role of advanced drone warfare in the conflict, as well as rising tensions between Russia and Western nations accused of supporting Ukraine. While the rhetoric from Russian commentators has intensified, there has been no official confirmation of any planned action against UK infrastructure.
