Russia threatens to 'defeat America' in 'holy war' as Iran declares victory over Trump

A pro-Kremlin TV host has suggested the current conflicts have a religious nature and added the US could attack Russia.

Vladimir Solovyov said in one of his programmes: “Do we understand that the war is holy in its nature? Do we understand that all our secular concepts are a thing of the past?” Speaking before the recently agreed two-week ceasefire, Solovyov said: “They say [the Americans] we will destroy all the bridges, we will destroy all the power plants. America is so far ahead of Iran that it can afford to do it.

“Because Iran doesn’t have NATO’s air defence systems, Iran can respond but cannot defend itself. A suspicion that Iran might acquire nuclear weapons is considered sufficient not only to kill an insane number of civilians, and dispatch Iran back to the Stone Age, as they say, but it’s clear that as soon as this week, we may witness America use nuclear weapons.”

The TV host also said the US “will wage a proxy war against us [Russia] through Ukraine, try to provoke domestic arrest here.

“The realisation of the holy nature of this war requires total changes”, he also said, including our approach to domestic politics”.

“People should understand what is happening. They should realise this is war, for the right of our people, the great Russian people, the great Russian civilization, to continue living on its land.”

Solovyov also said “it’s not about defeating Ukraine here and now, it’s about defeating America, the way it will be in the coming months and years. We have to do a lot to be able to confront them. We have to start here and now.”

Another Kremlin TV war pundit Col. Mikhail Khodarenok admitted to millions of viewers that Putin’s strategy over four years of war is not bringing success. He advocated a threat similar to the one Donald Trump issued to Iran – except the Russian version for obliterating Ukraine involves being ready to unleash nuclear bombs.

“The Ukrainian leadership will be faced with the question of whether the country will be left in complete ruins, or we move to some kind of peace agreement,” he said.

Khodarenok – a retired air defence forces commander – no longer advocated “caution”, he said.

“If the [Ukrainian] leadership, the military-political leadership, certain high-ranking officials, political leaders, are hiding in underground bunkers, located at considerable depths… How can they be reached there, except with special weapons…?

“For me that the time has come when the use of special weapons should not be considered an out-of-the-ordinary occurrence.”
