Sanwo-Olu’s aide, Sola Giwa resigns to contest house of reps seat

Sola Giwa, the special adviser on transportation to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos state governor has resigned to pursue a seat in the house of representatives for the 2027 general elections.
Giwa made this known in a statement issued shared on his X handle on Wednesday.
The Lagos governor’s aide disclosed that he had yesterday tendered his resignation letter as he eyes the Lagos Island Federal Constituency II seat in the green chamber.
“Yesterday, I stepped down from my role as Special Adviser on Transportation to the Governor of Lagos State.
“It has been an honor to serve and contribute to the transformation of our transport system under the THEMES+ Agenda,” he wrote.
Giwa expressed his gratitude to Sanwo-Olu for the opportunity given to him to serve under his administration.
He however described his National Assembly ambition as a higher call to represent his constituents.
“I remain grateful to Mr. Governor for the trust and opportunity. After deep reflection and wide consultations, I am answering a higher call to represent the good people of Lagos Island Federal Constituency II in the House of Representatives.
“This next chapter is about stronger representation, purposeful legislation, and delivering real impact for our people. The journey continues,” the aide added.
