Sia agrees to pay over $40k per month in child support to estranged husband

Sia and her estranged husband Daniel Bernad have reached an agreement regarding child support and custody of their young son.

According to court documents filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on April 6, the singer will pay Bernad $42,500 per month in child support for their son, Somersault Wonder Bernad.
Sia, 50, welcomed her third child — and her first with Bernad — on March 27, 2024.
The child support payments began on April 1, 2026, and will continue until their child turns 18, or, if he is still attending high school full time, until he graduates or turns 19.
The support may also end earlier under certain conditions, including de@th, marriage, emancipation or further court order.
In addition to the monthly payments, Sia is responsible for covering private school tuition, agreed-upon extracurricular activities and uninsured healthcare costs. She will also maintain health insurance for her son, according to the filing.
The agreement includes provisions to secure the child’s financial future. Sia is required to maintain a $5 million life insurance policy naming her son as beneficiary or establish a trust to provide equivalent support if she di£s before he reaches adulthood.
The former couple will share joint legal custody of their son, while physical custody will follow a set schedule beginning April 1. The arrangement outlines specific weekday and weekend custody for Bernad, along with a detailed division of holidays.
