St Camillus College Provost Bags African Trailblazers Merit Award For Academic Excellence

Mr Olise Celestine, Provost of St Camillus College of Nursing Sciences, CONSC, Uromi, has been honoured with the prestigious African Trailblazers Merit Award in Academic Excellence by the Unveiling African Parliament Writers Network.
The award recognises Mr Olise’s transformative leadership. Under his stewardship, CONSC secured full accreditation from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and the National Board for Technical Education for its ND Nursing, Basic Midwifery and Post-Basic Midwifery programmes.
The college also recorded successful admissions for the 2025/2026 academic session, introduced innovative clinical training initiatives, expanded its library resources and facilitated faculty certification in ethics, research and innovation.
Community-focused initiatives, including capping and matriculation ceremonies, have further strengthened CONSC’s role in producing future healthcare leaders, in alignment with Edo State Government’s 2024 Health Workforce Development Bill and broader African development priorities.
The Unveiling African Parliament Writers Network—comprising journalists from six African countries with a focus on parliamentary coverage and visionary leadership—selected Mr Olise for his compassion, strategic oversight and philanthropic commitment to supporting the underprivileged.
As part of the recognition, the Network also engaged Mr Celestine for an exclusive interview in its forthcoming African Trailblazers Magazine launch edition, which will highlight his professional journey and contributions to advancing health literacy across the continent.
“We celebrate leaders like Mr Olise who continue to elevate nursing education and public service,” said Justin Ihunne, President of the Network.
Mr Celestine’s achievement further positions CONSC as a model institution for pragmatic, people-centred healthcare training in Nigeria and across Africa.
