Two in custody after man’s death at Adamawa party

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two persons suspected of being connected with the killing of a 25-year-old man, Friday Isah, in Mubi North Local Government Area of the state.

PidomNigeria Metro learnt from a statement signed by the command spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, on Sunday that the incident occurred during a birthday party at Digil Ward, where the suspects allegedly stabbed the victim with a knife and fled the scene.

“Upon receipt of the report, operatives of the command attached to the Mubi North Divisional Headquarters promptly rushed to the scene and conveyed the victim to a medical facility for treatment. Unfortunately, he was later confirmed dead by a medical doctor.

“The suspects, Samson Elisha, 19, of Giye Digil, Mubi North LGA, and Ayuba Stephen, 21, of Dagala Digil, Mubi North LGA, have since been arrested while the investigation is ongoing,” the statement read.

According to the Commissioner of Police, Kabir Umar, the State Criminal Investigation Department has been directed to take over the case and ensure diligent investigation and prosecution of the suspects.

The command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring justice and urged residents to remain law-abiding and promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station for swift action.
