‘We Wish To Make It Abundantly Clear’ – Olubadan Speaks On Rift With Makinde

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has dismissed reports suggesting a rift between him and the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, describing such claims as unfounded and misleading.

The monarch clarified that there is no disagreement between the palace and the state government.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Adeola Oloko, the palace urged members of the public to disregard the reports circulating in some quarters.
“We wish to make it abundantly clear that there is no rift between Kabiyesi and the Olori Omo Oba of Ibadanland,” the statement read.
The palace also refuted claims that the Olubadan deliberately travelled out of Ibadan to avoid participating in a coronation ceremony scheduled for Friday, April 3.
According to the statement, the monarch is currently in Ibadan and continues to carry out his traditional responsibilities.
The palace described the rumour as misleading and urged the public to verify information before spreading it.

Explaining the status of the coronation ceremony, the Olubadan disclosed that three High Chiefs who were expected to be elevated had formally written to him, indicating their inability to attend the event.
The chiefs reportedly requested that the ceremony be postponed.
The palace stated that the development had already been communicated to the Oyo State Government through the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
The Olubadan-in-Council called on residents and the general public to disregard rumours about alleged disagreements between the monarch and the state government.
It advised the public to rely only on verified information concerning activities of the Olubadan-in-Council.
