What is the worse that will happen if we don’t file our income tax to the government? – Nigerian lady fumes

A Nigerian woman has questioned the directive from the Federal and state governments for Nigerians to file their income taxes.

In a video that has now gone viral, the woman asked why the government is asking citizens to file their income taxes when it he government isn’t transparent with their income and revenue, 

She argued that she provides all her basic amenities so she’s not obligated to file her income tax to the government.

‘’What is the worse that will happen if we don’t file our income tax to the government? Why should I report my income to the government? Is the government reporting their income to me?  I should give government right to my money? The last time I checked government spending has not been public ever since this government took over, How has the government been beneficial to me? The last time I checked they don’t give me 24 hours light, no good roads, no access to good medicals, fuel was N200 and now it is N1500, $ was N500 and now it is almost N2000. The last time I checked bag of rice was N10,000 now it is over N100, 000.

Last time I checked, a one room apartment used to be N500, 000. Now it is going for four to five million Niara. So of what benefit have you been to me to demand access to my money?”
