The wife of Anambra State governor, Nonye Soludo, has urged Nigerians to take responsibility for their health, stressing that everyday choices shape the nation’s wellbeing.

The governor’s wife made the call in a statement released on Tuesday to mark World Health Day, observed annually on April 7.

Mrs. Soludo said building an inclusive healthcare system requires collective effort beyond government action.

She said: “This message is not for the government alone. Of course, it’s expected that the government must take the lead action. But the process demands a collective vision.”

She noted that the theme for this year highlights inequalities in access to healthcare, education, and safe environments.

Through her initiative, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, she said efforts are ongoing to promote health awareness across Anambra State.

She said: “My NGO is leading an unprecedented crusade that has transformed the overall health consciousness and habits of our people.”Soludo emphasised that maintaining good health depends on consistent habits rather than isolated actions.

She said: “Health is not a one-off process. “It’s a collection of those simple but significant daily actions that define good or bad health.“Take care of yourself always.“Be mindful of what you consume.“Health is irreplaceable.”

She described health as the greatest wealth and called for collaboration among individuals, communities, and institutions to achieve universal access to healthcare.
