Why I Postponed Ogun Trip For Plateau – President Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has declared that the most pressing duty on his table as the leader of Nigeria at the moment is to be with the people of Plateau State.

Naija News reports that the President made the declaration in a personally signed statement on Wednesday in which he disclosed that he has postponed his scheduled trip to Ogun State and would instead head to Jos on Thursday following the recent dreadful attack on the Angwan Rukuba community in the northern state.

The President narrated that he would be in Jos to commiserate with families who have lost loved ones to the attack and to reaffirm that those who seek to spread fear will not prevail.

According to him, it is important that in moments of grief, the country stands together.

Tinubu added that after the Plateau visit, he would continue with other engagements in Lagos, Ogun and Bayelsa States, stressing the need to always put Nigeria first.

“I have postponed my trip to Iperu, Ogun State. My first duty at this moment is to stand with the people of Plateau.

“I will be in Jos to commiserate with families who have lost loved ones and to reaffirm that those who seek to spread fear will not prevail. We will continue to strengthen our security response and ensure that justice is done.

“From Plateau, I will proceed to Lagos to observe Good Friday, and then continue with scheduled engagements in Ogun, Lagos, and Bayelsa focused on infrastructure, trade, and economic growth.

“In moments of grief, we must stand together. In moments of progress, we must keep building.

“The work continues. Nigeria First,” the President wrote.
