World Cup 2026: ‘Neymar on right track’ – Brazil coach Ancelotti

Head coach of Brazil national football team, Carlo Ancelotti, has expressed confidence that forward Neymar Jr. is progressing well ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, while stressing that his final selection will depend on fitness.
Ancelotti addressed growing speculation over Neymar’s role in the squad, making it clear that only fully fit players will be considered for selection.
“He has two months to show he still has the qualities to play in the next World Cup,” Ancelotti said via GOAL.
“I believe he can return to 100%. I’ve said it before, and I’ll be clear: only physically ready players will get my call-up.
“After his knee injury, Neymar has made a good comeback; he is scoring goals. He needs to continue in this direction and improve his fitness. He’s on the right track.”
Neymar Jr. remains Brazil’s all-time leading scorer, with 79 goals and 59 assists in 128 senior international appearances.
