BENIN CITY — As part of activities marking World Health Day, Med-Vical International has organised a sensitisation campaign in Benin City, educating residents on the importance of regular medical check-ups while offering free health services.

The healthcare provider, known for promoting access to quality and affordable medical services, also operates a modern medical facility and regularly undertakes outreach initiatives aimed at improving community health.

As part of the exercise, the Med-Vical awareness team conducted a road walk across the Edo State capital, visiting markets, workshops, and motor parks to engage residents on preventive healthcare practices. Free vital checks were also carried out at the organisation’s hospital in the GRA area of the city.

Speaking during the programme, a representative of the hospital, Chinwendu Emenike, said the initiative was designed to raise awareness on the importance of maintaining good health through routine screenings.

“World Health Day provides an opportunity to educate the public on health promotion and disease prevention, while also celebrating the role of healthcare professionals in improving population health,” he said.

Also speaking, Promise Osamwonyi, noted that the outreach was aimed at encouraging individuals to take proactive steps toward their wellbeing.

“We are using this platform to emphasise the need for routine medical check-ups and to sensitise residents on preventive healthcare measures,” she said.

On her part, the Assistant Secretary General of the Medical Women Association of Nigeria, Juliet Evbayehor, stressed the importance of knowing one’s health status, particularly for individuals above 40 years.

“Our goal is to empower people with the right information to prioritise routine health checks for early detection and prevention of diseases,” she said.

Observed annually, this year’s World Health Day is themed “Together for Health: Stand with Science.”

Med-Vical International reaffirmed its commitment to supporting science-driven healthcare and advancing public health for a healthier society.
