Yusuf Buhari ‘accepts’ call to contest Katsina Reps seat

Yusuf Buhari, son of late former President Muhammadu Buhari, has accepted calls by stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives.
He is expected to run for the Sandamu/Daura/Mai’Adua Federal Constituency of Katsina State.
Party stakeholders in the constituency had earlier unanimously endorsed him as the consensus candidate.
In a letter dated April 3, 2026, Mr Buhari formally declared his intention to vie for the position, saying his decision followed wide consultations with key political actors and community leaders.
He noted that his ambition was driven by a desire to provide quality representation, promote infrastructural development, and enhance human capital growth in the constituency.
“With all respect, I am extremely delighted to write and inform you of my intention to contest for the seat of the House of Representatives for the Sandamu/Daura/Mai’Adua Federal Constituency under the platform of the APC.
“Your support will help my ambition succeed in bringing infrastructural and human capital development to the people of this constituency.
“While expecting your full support and encouragement, I wish you all the very best in all your undertakings,” the letter read.
