South South APC youth leaders partner Renewed Hope Ambassadors for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election

The South South leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Youth Wing has declared its readiness to work closely with the Akwa Ibom State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Obong Prince Ikim, to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and consolidate support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The commitment was made during a strategic meeting and courtesy visit by APC youth leaders from across the South South region to the office of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors along Udo Udoma Avenue in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Thursday.

The meeting focused on promoting unity, deepening collaboration, and advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda through active youth participation and strategic political partnerships across the region.

The gathering attracted political leaders, coordinators, stakeholders, and youth mobilisers from Akwa Ibom State and other parts of the South South geopolitical zone.

Speaking during the engagement, the APC South South Youth Leader, Prince Avwomakpotor Koyoyo Uhrorho, said the regional youth leadership deliberately identified Prince Ikim as one of the credible young political leaders with the capacity, influence, and grassroots reach required to drive mobilisation efforts for the APC in the region.

According to him, consultations had become necessary ahead of the 2027 elections to build stronger alliances with tested political mobilisers capable of consolidating support for President Tinubu and other APC candidates across the South South.

“We are here because we found you worthy as one of the leaders in this region that we need to work with. We need leaders with credibility, capacity, and strong grassroots acceptance who can engage young people and help deliver victory for our party,” Uhrorho said.

He noted that modern political campaigns require effective communication and constructive engagement with young people rather than violence and intimidation.

The APC youth leader further argued that misinformation on social media had significantly contributed to negative perceptions about some government policies and reforms.

According to him, the South South APC youth leadership had commenced consultations across the region to identify and partner credible leaders capable of communicating the achievements and policies of the Tinubu administration directly to the grassroots.

Uhrorho also commended Prince Ikim for what he described as his exceptional commitment to public service, youth mobilisation, and party development, adding that his performance justified his appointment as Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Akwa Ibom State.

He assured that the South South APC youth leadership would continue collaborating with leaders such as Prince Ikim to promote government policies, mobilise support for the APC, and encourage greater youth participation in governance and democratic processes.

Responding, Obong Prince Ikim thanked the visiting youth leaders for their support and commitment to the APC and President Tinubu, describing the Renewed Hope Agenda as a practical and transformative vision already producing visible results across the country.

He said Nigeria had witnessed major economic reforms under President Tinubu’s administration, including the implementation of the student loan scheme, renewed infrastructure development, reforms in the power sector, improved revenue generation, and efforts aimed at boosting food security and economic recovery.

Ikim particularly highlighted the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, describing it as one of the landmark infrastructure initiatives capable of transforming economic activities across the South South and South East regions.

“Today, Nigerians can clearly see that the Renewed Hope Agenda is not just a slogan but a working vision. As youth leaders and ambassadors of this movement, we carry the responsibility of ensuring that the achievements and reforms of government are properly communicated to the grassroots,” he said.

The Akwa Ibom Renewed Hope Coordinator stressed that young people must serve as a bridge between government and citizens by promoting civic engagement, strategic communication, and mass mobilisation while also conveying the concerns and aspirations of the people back to government.

He urged youth leaders across the South South to remain united, focused, and deliberate in promoting peace, national development, and responsible political participation.

Prince Ikim also commended Senate President Godswill Akpabio, governors from the South South region, ministers, lawmakers, commissioners, and other political stakeholders for supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda and contributing to peace and development in the region.

He particularly praised Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, for what he described as inclusive and people-oriented leadership through the ARISE Agenda, especially in the areas of infrastructure, youth empowerment, agriculture, and rural development.

Earlier, the meeting featured the formal introduction of coordinators and stakeholders of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Akwa Ibom State, including the Commissioner for Housing and Coordinator for Itu Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Dr. Henry Archibong; Commissioner for Water Resources and Sanitation and Coordinator for Okobo, Hon. Ubuo Effiong Ubuo; Coordinator for Mkpat Enin, Mr. Iniubong Akpan; Eket Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Dr. Tommy Enodien; Coordinator for Oruk Anam, Hon. Emmanuel Essien; Coordinator for Ika, Elder Mathew; and Ward Coordinator in Uyo, Hon. Stella Archibong.

In his vote of thanks, Rt. Hon. Dr. Henry Archibong appreciated the South South APC youth leadership for identifying with Akwa Ibom State and commended President Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno, and Prince Ikim for providing purposeful leadership and creating opportunities for young people to contribute meaningfully to governance and national development.

The meeting ended with renewed commitments by youth leaders and political stakeholders across the South South to strengthen collaboration, deepen grassroots mobilisation, and sustain advocacy for the Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.
