Youth Party’s Candidate for Lagos Island Constituency II, Oluwashanu Ajanaku

Oluwashanu Ajanaku, a legal practitioner and native of Lagos Island, has formally presented his vision for the development of Lagos Island Constituency II, as he seeks election into the Lagos State House of Assembly under the platform of the Youth Party.

Barrister Ajanaku who was born and raised at No. 42 Alof Street, Lagos Island, spent more than 18 years within the constituency, an experience he says gave him firsthand knowledge of the needs, aspirations, and challenges facing residents.

His roots in the community have remained a key part of his political identity and motivation for public service.

Ajanaku began his education at St. Mary’s Private School, Ajele, before attending the renowned King’s College, Lagos, for his secondary education. He later earned a Bachelor of Laws degree from Lagos State University and proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, where he graduated with a Second Class Upper Division and qualified as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Professionally, Ajanaku serves as an associate at Clarke & Oshodi, Senior Advocates, a respected law firm located in Lagos, and through his legal practice, he has built a reputation for diligence, professionalism, and commitment to justice, which said says his work has exposed him to the realities faced by ordinary citizens and reinforced his determination to contribute to good governance and effective representation.

The Youth Party candidate has identified youth empowerment, quality education, job creation, infrastructure development, security, and improved welfare as key priorities for the constituency. He advocates a people-centered style of leadership founded on transparency, accountability, and active community engagement.

According to Ajanaku, his ambition is to provide a fresh and progressive voice in the state legislature while bridging the gap between government and the people. He maintains that public office should be viewed as a platform for service rather than personal gain.
