Horror moment mum grabs chainsaw after neighbour dispute over bins turns violent

Wild footage has captured the moment a neighbourhood dispute over a set of bins dispute kicked into overdrive, with a woman dressed in heels and a party dress opting to bring a chainsaw to a rubbish row.
Jolon, 21, and her neighbour Danielle both live on a shared block in Melbourne, Australia. Jolon, who lives in the flat at the front of the property, keeps her rubbish bins along the side of the communal driveway up against the fence line.
Her neighbour, Danielle, claims this blocks her car’s access. So, the miffed mum-of-three began leaving notes on the bins.
Jolon told A Current Affair: “We just kept them on the communal area, but they were in line with the fence, so we thought everyone was okay, but she continued sending these notes until one day my mother came home, and she found the bins tipped out on the driveway.”
Cameras were soon installed at the front unit to catch the bin bandit, which soon captured neighbour Danielle on camera as she relocated the bins from the garden bed alongside the driveway to the side belonging to Jolon’s family.
“I had then woken up to the bins being behind my mother’s car. I had moved them and throughout the day she repetitively did it, we moved them back, and we needed access to the driveway,” Jolon said.
The rubbish row kicked into overdrive when Danielle found the bins chained to trees dotted along the fence line, where Jolon’s family always leave them, which thwarted any attempt to remove them from the garden bed and back onto Jolon’s part of the property.
It would appear that chaining the bins in place was the final straw for Danielle. Jolon soon spotted the furious mum-of-three marching down the shared driveway all dolled up in a party dress and heels, chainsaw in hand. The whole debacle was caught on camera by Jolon, which aired on Australia’s Nine network on Monday night.
Footage that beamed out nationwide on Monday showed an ugly spat, with two women screaming and both at their wit’s end. As Danielle wields the power tool at the trunk of the tree, near the bin’s handles, Jolon can be heard screaming for her to stop while she attempts to block her progress.
“I asked her straight away, ‘Why you cutting down the tree?’ She then proceeded to cut the trees the bins were chained to, not the chains, the trees.
“You’re in my face, move,” Danielle can be heard yelling back the shocking iPhone footage, adding: “Move your bin, and we can put the car in. Just move your f**king bins!”
Jolon can be heard asking: “What are you doing?”
The 21-year-old then repeatedly can be heard asking her neighbour to stop.
Jolon recounted to A Current Affair on Monday: “I did not know what else to do to get her to stop. I was putting my hand on the side of the chainsaw, she kept grabbing my arm.
“Then she proceeded to cut the handles of the bins.”
Officers from Victoria Police eventually turned up, with the force now looking into the matter.
The situation has since escalated, Jolon told ACA, claiming that the mum-of-three has now engaging in tactics akin to guerilla coercion.
Jolon says the mum-of-three has been spotted on CCTV at 3.30am in her car, windows down and music blasting. Her vexatious neighbour has also invested in a number of stereo speakers, placed at strategic locations on her part of the property with music blaring at full volume for hours on end.
The 21-year-old told the Australian public on Monday that her neighbour now plays opera music or children’s songs on repeat in an apparent effort to drive her over-the-fence nemeses away. Popular children’s song “Baby Shark” is an oft-used song in her neighbour’s audio arsenal, Jolon said.
Interestingly, in 2019 Baby Shark was used as a form of sonic torture against inmates at an Oklahoma jail in the US, with inmates reporting officers handcuffed inmates in place blasted “Baby Shark” on a continuous loop for hours on end. Following a federal civil rights lawsuit, the prison officers resigned and, later, were criminally charged for their actions.
It was also widely documented that interrogators at the Guantánamo Bay detention camp liked to use the same tactic to psychologically break detainees interred on the prison island, with Barney the Dinosaur’s track “I Love You” reported to be a favourite torture track.
As for Jolon and Danielle, Danielle is now understood to be blocking access to the garden bed alongside the communal driveway with boxes of sand and other debris.
