NDC guber candidate Gwarzo files complaint against Kano governor’s media aide

Former Kano State Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo has filed a petition against the Director General of Media and Publicity to the Kano State Governor, Sunusi Bature, for allegedly defaming his character and dragging his reputation through the mud.
The petition was submitted to the Kano State Commissioner of Police on June 17, 2026, by his lawyer, Barr. Nazifi Yusuf Gorondutse.
The petition alleged that Bature mentioned Gwarzo’s name during a political gathering held on June 13, 2026, where he linked him to the receipt of what was described as “Awalaja” from the chairmen of the 44 local government areas in Kano State.
The petition further alleged that a video of the speech was circulated on social media, which it said damaged the reputation of the complainant.
The lawyer urged the police command to investigate the matter and take appropriate action in accordance with the law.
