Police arrest two suspects linked to Edo kidnapping, murder case

The Ogun state police command has arrested two suspects linked to a kidnapping and murder case in Edo State as part of an ongoing investigation into a wider criminal network.
The suspects, identified as Gafaru Adamu, 25, and Muhammed Sanni, 20, were arrested in the Atiba area of Ijebu-Ode following intelligence-led operations by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit.
Police said preliminary investigations linked the duo to a kidnapping incident in the Okada area of Edo State, where two abducted victims were allegedly killed.
The Command disclosed that the suspects are believed to be members of a seven-man kidnapping syndicate operating across state lines.
During the operation, officers reportedly recovered a pair of police camouflage uniform and three mobile phones, which have been taken as exhibits for further investigation.
Authorities said the offences were committed outside Ogun State, adding that the suspects and recovered items will be transferred to the Edo State Police Command for continuation of investigations and prosecution.
CP Bode Ojajuni, the commissioner of police commended the operatives involved, describing the arrest as a breakthrough and reaffirming the Command’s commitment to preventing criminal groups from using Ogun State as a hideout.
He assured residents that security agencies will continue intelligence-led operations and inter-state collaboration to curb kidnapping and violent crime.
