President Federation Cup: Ogbonnaya hails Sunshine Queens impressive run
Ondo State Football Agency Chairman Divine Ogbonnaya has commended Sunshine Queens FC for their impressive run in the President Federation Cup.
The Akure club were eliminated by Nasarawa Amazons in the semi-finals.
Ogbonnaya described the feat as the club’s best campaign since 2015.
He credited the team’s determination, resilience and renewed fighting spirit for reaching the last four this year.
Ogbonnaya also singled out technical adviser Tayo Onilude for praise despite the defeat to Nasarawa Amazons in the semi-final.
“Coach Tayo Onilude and her technical crew deserve immense credit for the positive turnaround witnessed in the team,” Ogbonnaya told the club’s media.
“The tactical discipline, improved confidence and fighting spirit displayed by the players are clear indicators of the excellent work being done.”
Nasarawa Amazons and Heartland Queens will play in the final of the 2026 President Federation Cup in Asaba next month.
