2026 World Cup: I won’t play for Senegal again until Thiaw is sacked – Pape Gueye

Senegal midfielder, Pape Gueye, has vowed not to play for his country again until Pape Thiaw is sacked as head coach.
Gueye made this stunning claim after the Teranga Lions were eliminated from the 2026 World Cup by Belgium.
The 27-year-old took to social media to express his anger immediately after the match.
He wrote: “l’Il be back to give you a few words regarding elimination… but I announce today that as long as it’s this technical staff I’ll take a break from the selection.”
Senegal were on the verge of progressing into the last 16 after taking a two-goal lead.
But Belgium scored two late goals to force the match into extra time, where a Youri Tielemans penalty sent the African side out.
