APC ward chairman, legal adviser in Gombe defect to PDP

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress,APC, in Pantami Ward, Gombe Local Government Area of Gombe State, Bala Salihu Ngalda, alongside the party’s Legal Adviser, Babangida Atiku Gololo, have resigned from their respective positions and defected to the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP.
The duo conveyed their resignation in separate letters dated July 27, 2027, addressed to the Secretary of the APC in Pantami Ward.
In his resignation letter, Mr Ngalda said he was stepping down as Ward Chairman and as a member of the APC with immediate effect.
According to him, the decision followed extensive consultations with his family and should be understood and respected in that context.
He expressed appreciation to the APC leadership at the local, state and national levels for the opportunity to serve, while also thanking the Gombe State Government for its support and cooperation throughout his tenure.
“I wish to use this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to the Party at the Local Government, State, and National levels for the opportunity given to me to serve in this capacity. I am equally grateful to the Gombe State Government at large for the support and cooperation extended throughout my tenure”, the letter reads.
“Although I am stepping away from my position and membership, I will continue to hold the Party and its ideals in high regard, and I wish it continued growth and success going forward,” the letter added.
Similarly, the party’s Legal Adviser in Pantami Ward, Babangida Atiku Gololo, also announced his resignation from both his position and membership of the APC with immediate effect.
Mr Gololo, in his resignation letter, said his decision was reached after careful consultation with his family.
He equally appreciated the APC leadership at all levels and the Gombe State Government for the opportunity to serve and for the support he received while in office.
Despite his departure, Mr Gololo said he would continue to hold the party in high regard and wished it success in its future endeavours.
Although neither of the resignation letters stated the reason for their exit, both former ward executives have since joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), marking a significant political development in Pantami Ward ahead of future political activities in Gombe State.
Meanwhile a former house representative aspirant for Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency under the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Aliyu Abubakar Turaki, House of Representatives has announced his decision to support the PDP governorship candidate, Isa Ali Pantami.
Mr Turaki said the decision followed extensive consultations with stakeholders, elders, youth, women groups, and his political structures across Gombe, Kwami and Funakaye Local Government Areas.
