Gunmen kidnap 10-year-old boy after invading home in Yobe

Suspected kidnappers have abducted a 10-year-old boy after invading his family home in Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State and are now demanding a ransom for his release.

The incident was reported by security analyst, Zagazola Makama.

According to the report, the attack occurred at about 5:20 pm on July 25 when four armed men stormed the residence of Bukar Umar in Andarashi village.

Makama reported that the attackers, armed with bows and arrows, cutlasses and sticks, forcefully abducted the victim, identified as Abdullahi Isa, before fleeing to an unknown destination.

The kidnappers later contacted the family by telephone and demanded a ransom for the boy’s release.

Following the incident, police authorities deployed operatives to the area, while the Officer-in-Charge of the State Investigation Department, SID, was directed to begin technical tracking of the telephone number allegedly used by the kidnappers.

“The police said efforts are ongoing to rescue the victim unharmed and apprehend those responsible for the abduction,” the report stated.
