Kogi Abduction: Gov Ododo Receives Rescued Principal, NECO Official, Students

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has welcomed the school principal, a National Examinations Council (NECO) official, and two students who regained their freedom after being abducted during an attack on an alleged illegal examination centre in Olowa, Dekina Local Government Area.
The victims were received at the Government House in Lokoja in the presence of heads of security agencies operating in the state.
They were rescued following a coordinated security operation, during which sustained pressure from security personnel forced the kidnappers to abandon the victims and flee.
Commending the security agencies for the successful operation, Governor Ododo praised their professionalism and assured residents that efforts were underway to apprehend those responsible and ensure they face justice.
He also raised concerns over reports that the examination centre involved was allegedly operating as an illegal “miracle centre,” despite the state’s policy of providing free education.
The governor further appreciated President Bola Tinubu and the various security agencies for their support in the rescue mission, reaffirming that Kogi State would not serve as a refuge for criminal elements.
