Panelists and guests on a podcast burst into laughter after 54-year-old US woman ‘married’ to a 36-year-old Nigeria-based man, who she sends money to every month, laments about lack of love from him

A mild drama played out on a US podcast recently after a 54-year-old woman took the mic to complain about her 36-year-old ‘’Nigerian husband”.

The podcast is centered on relationships and allows listeners to walk up to the microphone to express themselves on any issue in their relationships and seek advice from the podcast panelists.

So, this 54-year-old woman walked up to the microphone and asked 

‘’At what point does f!ghting for a relationship become settling for less than what you deserve”

One of the anchors on the show then prodded further, asking her ‘’Husband or boyfriend” to which she responded ‘Husband. I am married. I am in a long-distance relationship.”

This led to the anchor then asking ‘’How long is the distance?”

Responding, the woman responded ‘’He is in Nigeria. I am 54, he is 36”

Immediately, she mentioned Nigeria, the anchors and the audience went wild with laughter.

‘’You haven’t been sending any money, have you?” one of the anchors asked

Responding, she said ‘’I send money every month”

‘You have been scammed! ’ one of the show anchors said loudly as other anchors and members of the audience reeled with laughter

While giving a reason why she has remained with him despite not getting the kind of love she thinks she deserves, the woman quoted a bible verse that says ‘’she does him good all the days of her life”

‘’I know if I leave, he is going to become nothing,” she said

This video has left some Nigerians reeling with laughter while others berate the Nigerian men who engage in romance scams and end up denting the image of Nigeria.
