“Warrant Of Arrest, Interpol Red Notice, Immigration Watch List” — Court Grants IGP’s Ex Parte Application Against Immaculata Ikenwankwor

The Federal High Court, Abuja Judicial Division, has granted an ex parte application filed by the Inspector General of Police for the issuance of a warrant of arrest against Immaculata Nkiruka Ikenwankwor.

The court also ordered that Ikenwankwor be placed on Interpol Red Notice and the Nigeria Immigration Service watch list, pending investigation into offences she is suspected to have committed and possible prosecution.

The order was made on Thursday, July 23, 2026, by Justice J.K. Omotosho in Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/1507/2026, between the Inspector General of Police as Complainant/Applicant and Immaculata Nkiruka Ikenwankwor as Defendant.

The application was brought by way of a Motion Ex Parte dated and filed on July 13, 2026, in which the police sought three main reliefs from the court.

The first relief was for an order issuing a warrant of arrest against the defendant and directing that she be placed on the Interpol Red Notice and the Nigeria Immigration Service watch list.

The second was for an order remanding the defendant in police custody for 14 days upon her arrest, pending the conclusion of investigation into the offences she is suspected to have committed and possible prosecution.

The third prayer was for any further orders the court might deem fit to make in the circumstances.

The motion was supported by an affidavit deposed to by Oluwatosin R. Ayoola, described in the order as a Nigerian citizen of Plot 301/302, Cadastral Zone, Institution and Research District, Jabi, Abuja.

At the hearing, N.O. Eleodimuo, Esq., appearing with S.A. Medugu, Esq., represented the applicant and urged the court to grant the application.

After hearing counsel, Justice Omotosho granted the application and ordered the issuance of a warrant of arrest against Ikenwankwor.

The court further ordered that she be placed on Interpol Red Notice and the Nigeria Immigration Service watch list.

Justice Omotosho also ordered that upon her arrest, Ikenwankwor should be remanded in the custody of the police for 14 days, pending the conclusion of investigation and possible prosecution.

The court, however, added that the order would become invalid 14 days after the arrest of the defendant.
