World Cup: Rio Ferdinand makes claim on Messi after Argentina beat England

Former England centre-back, Rio Ferdinand, has claimed that Argentina captain Lionel Messi could play the 2030 FIFA World Cup when he would be in his 40s.
Ferdinand spoke on his podcast after Messi led Argentina to beat England 2-1 in the World Cup semi-final encounter on Wednesday.
“He [Messi] could play the next World Cup as a holding midfielder or as a No. 8 easily and still be one of the best players because his passing, he didn’t run past anyone today other than for the winner,” Ferdinand said.
“He started running the game from that right-hand side and set up the winning goal.”
Messi and Argentina will now take on Spain in the World Cup final on Sunday.
