“Exorcist” icon Linda Blair has responded after police searched her California property Friday over an alleged dog kennel operation.
“Checking in I’m good,” the horror movie star, 67, wrote via Instagram the same day.
“The animals are good in lieu of our surprise visit in 105° heat!” she continued in the caption. “With as busy as we all are in animal rescue and saving lives from the hot deserts and abandoned animals and shelters, everyone’s emails and social media are overloaded!”
She added, “Turns out we just have some paperwork to do and some diagrams but as everybody knows, I’m looking to move so I can be more educational and help more animals.”
Blair concluded, “I’d rather move forward. And I always say you know a good old-fashioned letter of contact always works. Be safe, safe lives support animal rescue cause we’re all fighting to save lives.”

In a video clip, Blair called the visit from authorities “a really big surprise” and reassured fans that the visit was merely about “paperwork.”
According to People, the actress’ Southern California property was searched yesterday due to an inspection warrant from the Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning and Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control.
Per the outlet, a press statement from officials noted that the goal was “to inspect this property for buildings and structures associated with a kennel operation reported to have more than 100 dogs.”
The kennel’s permits expired in 2023, alleged the The Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control, and the organization claimed attempts to contact Blair had been unanswered by the actress.
Blair, meanwhile, wondered aloud in her upload why authorities hadn’t reached out to her via mail.

The department noted in the statement that the warrant gave them the right to “lawfully access the property” in order to “verify compliance codes with County codes” and to evaluate “animal care, safety conditions, and overall welfare of the dogs housed on the property.”
The statement explained that the “priority” was “the safety and well-being of both the animals on the property and the people who may be working or residing here.”
Per TMZ, no dogs were taken from the site, and the actress was “extremely cooperative” during the visit from authorities.
On the Linda Blair-Worldheart Foundation website, the organization explained that its “mission is to alleviate suffering, while rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming abused, neglected and abandoned animals.”

The site continued, “We aid in crisis situations, while educating, encouraging and empowering the public to make a difference in the lives of those whom have no voice.”
In any case, Blair’s fans took to the comments thread of her social media post to make sure the actress felt supported.
“If that surprise visit did nothing else, it has shown a light on Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation, which I personally hadn’t known about before but definitely taking notice and donating,” one person wrote.
“I hope some good things come of this
,” another penned, while a third noted that “nobody cares more about dogs than @thereallindablair.”
