Police Arrest Six Suspects After Kidnap Victim Escapes Hideout in Kaduna

The Police Command in Kaduna State has announced the arrest of six suspects connected to k!dnapping offences and the dismantling of an alleged hideout in Ikara Local Government Area.
A police spokesperson disclosed that the suspects were apprehended following credible information from a k!dnapping victim who managed to escape captivity, combined with intelligence from members of the public.
The victim reported his abduct!on to police on Tuesday and identified a house belonging to a 65-year-old resident of Dogon Pako Village, Ikara, as the location where he had been detained.
Upon receiving the complaint, the Ikara Police Division mobilised officers in collaboration with local vigilante service members to conduct a raid at the location.
The operation resulted in the arrest of six suspects ranging in age from 20 to 65 years old.
The suspects remain in police custody while investigations proceed to determine individual roles in the crime.
Police stated that efforts continue to apprehend other members of the criminal network involved.
The state’s Police Commissioner commended operatives and members of the public for providing timely information.
He urged residents to maintain vigilance and promptly report suspicious individuals, movements and activities to the nearest police station.
The commissioner also cautioned residents to be wary of criminal elements who might use residential buildings as hideouts or holding facilities for captives.
The commissioner stressed that community vigilance and the timely sharing of information remain essential to preventing and dismantling criminal networks operating within the state.
