Someone is living in a billboard high above Hollywood’s famed Sunset Strip: ‘I wave to this guy every day’

A new Netflix thriller asks one terrifying question: How long could you survive if you were trapped inside your own home?

To drive the point home, the streaming giant got a guy to live inside a billboard in Hollywood.

To promote “The Last House,” Netflix hired a performer to “live” inside a fully furnished living room built into a billboard roughly 30 feet above the busy intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Selma Avenue.

The bizarre installation, designed to resemble a cozy home suspended in the sky, has become impossible to ignore for drivers and pedestrians passing through the heart of the Sunset Strip.

It serves as a real-life version of the film’s unsettling premise, turning one of Hollywood’s busiest corners into an eerie spectacle.

A message on the outside of the makeshift home reads “How long can you survive.”

The person will live inside his enclosure from Thursday August 6 through Saturday August 8, with the movie coming out Friday August 7, Netflix reported.

“While attempting to carry on as normally as possible inside the enclosed space, he’ll communicate with commuters and passersby below using a whiteboard — an eerie echo of the film’s central predicament,” Netflix said.

Pictures and videos have already started surfacing online. One video posted on social media showed the guy lying down on a couch waving from inside the “home” at people.

There’s also shots of the billboard star holding up white boards with messages that read, “what’s going on” and “stuck in here.”

Many people on social media thought it was a brilliant concept to promote the movie.

“I wave to this guy every day as I walk to the gym. It’s pretty neat if you see it. It’s wild to see a house in the air,” one person wrote.

“Clever stunt. Making the marketing mirror the film’s actual premise is a smart touch,” another added.

“Hope they have AC,” a third wrote.

There were also a handful of people who asked obvious questions like what’s the bathroom situation. 

It’s all in an effort to promote the streamer’s new scifi directed by Louis Leterrier. It stars Greta Lee and Wagner Moura, whose characters somehow get locked into their home.

“A family mysteriously sealed inside their home must work together to survive dwindling resources and the ominous force keeping them trapped,” a description read.

As the days drag on, it is quickly clear from the trailer this is not an isolated incident and their neighbors and the rest of the world are locked inside their homes too.

Leterrier said it “challenges the idea of a safe haven, turning a family home into a hostile environment where survival demands unity.”

“This is an ordinary family’s worst nightmare, pushing them to their limits to protect each other and exposing the fragility of security — and the desperate fight to reclaim it.”

“The Last House” comes out on Friday.
